Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a typical painting project cost?

It depends on the scope. Interior work ranges from $1,500 for a single room to $12,000+ for a whole house. Exterior work ranges from $8,000–$20,000+ depending on size and condition. Cabinet painting typically runs $4,000–$8,000. All prices include our warranty. We provide free, accurate quotes after an in-home consultation.

Interior work usually takes 3–7 days depending on the number of rooms and prep required. Exterior work takes 5–10 days. Cabinet painting typically takes 2–4 weeks (we remove doors, paint them in our shop, and reinstall them to minimize disruption). We’ll give you a detailed timeline before we start.

The 9-year warranty covers interior work that’s walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and built-ins. The 5-year warranty covers exterior work, which faces more exposure to weather and UV. Both are backed by Brush & Color and enforced directly by Nick. No fine print, no third-party runaround.

You get an owner-operated company with 9+ years of experience, a warranty that actually proves we stand behind our work, free annual touch-ups, and a team that treats prep like an art form. We don’t cut corners, and we won’t let you pay for a job we’re not proud of.

Austin’s heat, UV, and humidity are tough on paint. We use premium, weather-resistant coatings rated for Texas climate. We prep properly by power washing and scraping old paint. And we follow strict timing never painting in direct sun or high humidity when conditions won’t allow proper curing. That’s why our exterior work lasts.

Yes, if that’s what you want. We work with ECOS air-purifying paints for nurseries and sensitive spaces, and we carry low-VOC options from Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams. But we don’t push them just to sound green we recommend the best product for your specific project, climate, and needs.

Absolutely. Bring a paint chip, a photo, or a sample of your wall. We’ll match it or recommend a refresh that complements your space. Our color matching is precise.

Our 9-year and 5-year warranties cover any workmanship issues. If there’s a problem, we fix it, no questions, no arguments. You work with Nick directly, and he takes every complaint seriously. But honestly, in 9+ years, we rarely have complaints because we get it right the first time.

A fresh coat of paint can transform a room—and a whole house. But only if it’s done right. That’s where we come in.
